After some minor set backs and bad weather I think we are going to finally make it back to chicago today.

Damn!

Joe hooked us up with a sweet condo in Copper Mt.  This place is plush with a nice view off the back patio.

My face hurts

Hwy 40 in colorado is probably the nicest scenery I have ever seen.  Long stretches of road wind through rolling mountain tops. High speed riding was the order of the day.

We climbed Rabbit Ears Pass (elevation 9426 ft.) and Eugene blew up his advance weights. This is one of the few break downs I wasn't bummed about.  Just off the side of the road was a mountain stream and snow! The Bikes were struggling to deal with the thin air but we made it to Joe's pad in Frisco.

Finding some shade in Vegas

Some shade was found in the back parking lot of New York, New York.

We are currently waiting for Kevo and Doughnuts to make their appearance in Las Vegas.  They dropped back just before pulling off the highway and haven't been seen since.

Big thanks to Bacon

Bacon hooked us up with a soft floor and a garage to fix a few things.

We also had to say farewell to poor Turbo and Jeremiah.  Turdo was hit by a car two mile from the show and received a dislocated shoulder.  Jeremiah blew up his motor in spectacular fashion before making it to LA.

See you guys back in chicago.

Vagrants 50 miles from Vegas

Kevo and Eugene napping at a gas station.  Making the tourists nervous.

Wil is the man

This guy is a friend of the guys from chicago.  He has some very nice bikes and is a gracious host.  Wil thought it would be nice to put us up for a few nights AND host a bangin' party/cookout the day after Born Free.  Beer, chicken, shrimp, beens, bikes, conversation.  What more could you ask for.

Thank you Wil.

Born Free show

Fucking awesome!  I was having to good of time to take a lot of pictures.  Old friends and new friends.  Everybody was there.  Bikes as far as the eye could see.  I'm definitely making the trip next year.

So I'm hangin' out in Manteca...

And these guys show up...

Later that day I received two flat tires and a burnt battery... Maybe it was the chopper gods taking me down a few pegs.  I remember feeling invincible when the crew showed up. I guess I needed to be reminded that at anytime your only worldly possession can turn on you and become the bane of your existence.

Statistically inaccurate for San Francisco

101 and Shoreline Hwy

If you ever get a chance to ride down the coast of Oregon and California... Do it... Just don't load your bike so top-heavy that you can't enjoy it. The scenery is beautiful and you will miss it if you have to white knuckle through every little twist and turn.  I did manage to ride next to a fleeing deer for a second.  He thought he could outrun my bike.  And the redwoods are pretty cool if you like big trees and big elk. But nothing beats hitting the coast for the first time and seeing the endless expanse of ocean.  I got to camp close to it a few times and was lucky enough to miss the rain for my whole trip down.

I'm only writing this because my phone had already died and I couldn't take more pictures.  I will be more prepared on future legs of the trip.

First night out of dodge

David, curtis, and I made it to the coast. We found a nice camp with the ocean at our backdoor.
